Why work at Sense?

“Sense doesn’t dictate to you, they listen to you. So, you can put in really positive changes and that’s really, really important to me.”

Be part of our ambitious plan

Imagine a world where everyone can take part in life. We can. Everyone that works at Sense is part of an ambitious strategy to support ten times more people with complex disabilities by 2026. Join us and, together, we can ensure that 50,000 more people will have opportunities to take part in life.

We may be growing to help change more people’s lives, but there’s one thing we hope never to change: the way our people continually help build a unique place to work. Joining Sense means you’ll be part of something special, where you feel included and valued, challenged and supported.

Our commitment as an employer

We’re part of a number of schemes that help us make sure everyone has an opportunity to achieve their potential at Sense.

A Disability Confident employer

We aim to recruit the best people, with a proactive approach to employing disabled people.

This includes guaranteeing an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for our jobs, and providing an inclusive, accessible interview process.

We’re dedicated to keeping and developing our people and are creating an inclusive workplace where we can all, regardless of disability, bring our talent, express our views and be ourselves in our workplace.

Supporting Moving Up

The Moving Up programme by Skills for Care trains future leaders from Black, Asian or minority ethnic communities.

The programme is a combination of learning networks, mentoring and one-to-one coaching, and has had a significant impact on the participants who’ve taken part over the last 11 years.

We’re pleased to support and fund eligible employees to apply and take part in the programme.

Members of the Business Disability Forum

We’re members of the Business Disability Forum which exists to transform the life chances of disabled people, working through and with business to create a disability-smart world.

They provide evidence-based advice and support to businesses and connect us to a network of businesses, thought-leaders and disabled people that want to remove barriers and improve the life experiences of disabled people.
