You will join our amazing Community Service team in Treorchy, Glamorgan.

This is a permanent role working 6 hours per week - from 10am-4pm on a Thursday.

We are offering an hourly rate from £11.75 with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews/ rises.

You will be community based, mainly in the clients home. The ideal candidate will be comfortable around a playful young dogs and have a kind, respectful approach to supporting individuals in their home environment. BSL proficiency is a plus but not essential. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who values making a positive impact to someone's life.

Our Community Service supports over 50 individuals with sensory impairments to maintain independence and carry out activities that are important to them. You will work alongside a manager and a dedicated team at Sense to provide support which can include helping clients with their weekly shopping, taking exercise or attending local groups.

To be considered for this role we require you to have British Sign Language Skills, a Full UK License with use of your own vehicle and business insurance.

We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are:

  • Business Car Insurance
  • BSL Level 2 or first language essential
  • Knowledge of multi-sensory impairments / learning difficulties is beneficial.
  • Willing to attend training as needed to support you in your role.

No two days will be the same

This role might include supporting people with:

  • Within their home, and within the community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high-quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning.
  • Finances.
  • Appointments
  • Going into the community for shopping or other trips.
  • Their social life
  • Everyone we support is an individual, so their care is as unique as they are. You can see a more detailed description of duties in the job description attached at the bottom of this advert.
