Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated Waking Night Support Worker to join our professional team at our Supported Living Service in Exeter.

This is a Permanent role, working 20 hours per week, on mainly Saturday and Sunday nights.. We are offering Waking Night Support Workers £12.25 per hour (inclusive of allowances)

For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will support the individuals with medication, eating and drinking, preparing meals, personal care, continence support and help with our mobility in and out of the home. 

This is a challenging role, but incredibly rewarding. You will be part of an award winning team, providing outstanding care and support. We will support you both personally and professionally to develop the skills / knowledge and experience to support individuals who have learning disabilities, sensory impairments, communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge. 

The individuals we support are unique in their needs / wants and wishes and you will have fun supporting them in their various interests from sports activities and events, musicals, opera's and festivals, celebrating special events and connecting with the local and wider community.

Your shift patterns for this role will be 10pm-8am on a 4 week rolling rota

  • Caring and empathetic.
  • Passionate about enhancing other people’s lives.
  • Willing to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in health and social care or equivalent (or already have one).
  • Have some experience with adults with learning disabilities, deafblindness and behaviours that challenge. 
  • May have some BSL skills. 

A full UK Driver's License is desirable for this role.

This role in Exeter might include supporting people with:

  • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning.
  • Personal care and hygiene.
  • Finances.

  • Going into the community for shopping or other trips.
  • Their social life and nightlife.
