We’re looking for reliable and motivated persons to join our professional team of Support Workers at our College Centre based in Loughborough working 16 hours a week between Monday to Friday, 11am-2pm, for 38 weeks of the year. The successful applicant will be supporting people with special education needs and disabilities over the lunch period within a specialist college.
The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. Does this sound right for you?
The successful candidates duties can include:
- To support students over the college lunch time period.
- To follow eating and drinking guidelines and individual care plans.
- To promote independence, life skills and informed choices in accordance with individuals care plans
- Promoting and supporting people to take part in enjoyable, satisfying and purposeful activities.

Your required skills and experiences:
- Caring/Support Worker experience in a personal/voluntary/professional capacity
- Experience of working independently as well as in a team setting.
- Ability to support people with mobility (e.g., assisting with walking, guiding or working with a person who is a wheelchair user).
- Ability to accompany/participate in leisure activities of the person’s choice, for example collecting benefits, gym, swimming, accessing banks, attending groups, pubs, shopping, rally’s, day trips etc.
