About the Role
Sense is recruiting for a Senior CRM Database Officer to join our fantastic team in King’s Cross, London. This is a 12 month FTC and a key role responsible for the database, providing support for the use of fundraising and engagement data for income generation, engagement, insight and management purposes across our Engagement team.
It is an exciting time to join Sense as we are at the early stages of a project to replace our core database, Raisers’ Edge. You will be providing additional overall capacity to the business as usual data team, whilst also enabling the Database Manager to be seconded for two days a week to the project.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide additional capacity to an established data team preparing to migrate from Raisers’ Edge to Microsoft Dynamics and the resultant increase in workload
- Visibly promote a culture of data use amongst colleagues, in order to drive great insight and effective decision making.
- Use your Raisers’ Edge and third sector experience to provide efficient solutions to data challenges.
- Provide informal support and role modelling to our Database Officer
- Clearly understand and promote how excellent data use enables Sense’s strategic objectives and individual team business plans.
- Contribute to the development of streamlined, consistent data architecture across our data estate in line with direction from the Database Manager.
- Deliver Sense’s Raisers’ Edge training to colleagues in the Engagement directorate, empowering them to capitalise on the opportunities provided by data.
- Provide first and second line support to Raisers’ Edge users, primarily through our Zendesk ticketing system.
- Support the Senior Database Officer in making and quality controlling marketing data selections.
- Lead and deliver discrete data projects as directed by the Database Manager in preparation for our new CRM system.
- Create new and amend existing import templates.
- Clearly document projects and process upgrades in line with Sense standards
- Always operate within relevant legislation and regulatory guidance.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience working with Raiser’s Edge, within a fast-paced fundraising/ sales/customer-facing environment
- Demonstrable ability to deliver high-quality data services including ETL and selections
- Strong analytical and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with different types of people at all levels
- An understanding of how clear and consistent data use drives insight, which in turn drives improved engagement with the public
- Ability to use Excel or Access to perform large scale data manipulation
- Experience creating/editing Import-O-Matic profiles is desirable
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, R or comparable language is desirable
- Experience of developing and implementing new data architecture is desirable
- It would be beneficial to have interest in how data is being used to change the world outside the charitable sector, taking inspiration where relevant
- Experience of the charity sector would be beneficial
