Could you be a Sense Relief Support Worker?

Sense now have opportunities for Relief Support Workers to join our wonderful service in Vibrant Glastonbury. This is a permanent role, with flexible hours. We work flexibly across the week so can offer part time/full time and relief/bank contracts. A great first step into the care sector, no professional care experience is required as Sense will provide you will all the specialised training to become a great Support Worker.

You will join a small close knit team who support people with sensory impairments. The people we support live full and active lives if you want to play part in this – with no two days the same, We enjoy a wide range of activities that include swimming, long walks, art, drumming, trampoline, beach trips, bus/train trips, camping, holidays and the great outdoors as well as meaningful activities at home, so we would like someone who thrives on supporting us in a range of activities and willing to look at new opportunities. 

Based in Glastonbury - Glastonbury is a town and civil parish in Somerset, England, situated at a dry point on the low-lying Somerset Levels, 23 miles (37 km) south of Bristol. The town, which is in the Mendip district, had a population of 8,932 in the 2011 census. Glastonbury is a lovely vibrant town with lots of attractions, making this an ideal work base for those who like adventure – as do the people we support. The work involves varied shifts, from sleep in's, weekends evening and days. We are looking for people who want to have flexibility but are able to offer commitment and shared values in return, a great role for someone looking to get into the care sector!

Relief Support Worker, Glastonbury, Duties:

  • To support individuals / groups within the service and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Relief Support Worker, Glastonbury, Desire Experiences:

  • A full manual UK license would be beneficial but is not essential
  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
