Could you be a Sense Community Support Worker?
Here at Sense, we now have a great opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join our service in Ripley, Derbyshire.
This is a permanent role, with contracts available for either 8 or 10 hours per week. Shifts are flexible across Monday - Saturday and can be mutually agreed.
As a Community Support Worker, you will be supporting an individual who is profoundly deaf in one ear, has severe hearing loss in the other and is also registered blind. Their preferred method of communication is speech.
You will be supporting them to access the community for social and leisure purposes and also supporting them to participate in activities they enjoy and have meaningful experiences.
You will support the individual to make their own choices of how they want to spend their day, but a typical day in this role might be spent:
Going out for activities like bowling / swimming
Going shopping both for necessities and leisure
Going out for meals
In-house activities such as baking
Assistance with online shopping
Assistance with arranging appointments
Finding new and exciting activities to try
The individual is looking for “someone fun, outgoing and enjoys similar interests to me, from baking to swimming to horse riding to even arts and craft.”
There is no personal care involved with this role.
