Could you be our Registered Care Manager?

Sense have a Fantastic Opportunity, for a Registered Care Manager to Lead the management team at our Supported Living Service in Selly Park, Bimringham. This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week. 

Our service is registered for 1 location in Selly Park, Birmingham, where we support 6 people. This role will also cover support of a small service in Warmley (Sutton Coldfield), Birmingham where we support 1 person, meaning within this role you will lead the management of support provided to 7 people. They are 24/7 supported living services that supports 7 adults who are deafblind and have high complex needs aged between 18-65. 

You do require a Full UK Drivers license, To support people with activities and getting to college.

As our Registered Care Manager you will manage a staff team of approximately 25 staff with the support of 2 deputy managers and a team leader, the deputy managers complete a combination of hands-on support and managerial tasks as part of their role. The team leader is hands on. The people we support lead full and active lives and attend activities such as ice skating, horse riding, rock climbing, shopping, day trips, theme parks, bowling, trampolining, swimming, holidays and much more. 4 people attend college from 3-5 days a week.

Registered Care Manager, Birmingham, Duties:

  • To support individuals/groups within their home and community reach their full potential
  • The working week is 5 out of 7 including weekends you will also be on call duties.
  • Providing line management support to a team of staff.
  • To provide a customised, responsive, and high-quality service to people with learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • Identify needs and outcomes for each individual we support.
  • Deliver services that meet or exceed Sense’s legal and organisational standards.

Registered Care Manager, Birmingham,  Desired Experiences:

  • You require a full manual UK license and must be willing/able to drive.
  • Management experience in health & social care is essential.
  • Good communication with stakeholders, commissioners, and users alike
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care - or willing to work towards it is essential.
  • Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is desirable but not essential ( BSL / Makaton etc.)
