Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

Sense now have Fantastic opportunities for Support Workers to join our amazing team, within our Rotherham Supported Living Service.

We now have Part time weekends only positions available (Saturday's & Sunday's), 14 hours per week. You do not require any existing experience, you could be in Full time education, possibly studying Health and social care? This would be a fantastic step into the care sector and experience along side you studys!

You will be working with a team of people across our supported living service in Rotherham. Where we support adults with multi-sensory impairments and / or complex needs. You do not need to have previous support worker experience as we do provide you with full training. The most important thing for us is that you share our values and that no matter how complex their disabilities, no one should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

We have lots of fun in Rotherham so some of the things you would be supporting with is: Exploring the local community, travelling on public transport, going to local pubs and restaurants, shopping, swimming, playing computer games, walking, going to our local Sense Centre but do not worry we do like time in the house also; watching TV, listening to music, playing games etc.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the home, centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – so please use the supporting statement section or some inormation in your CV to tell us why you want to work in care - we are more than happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
