Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We have exciting opportunities for Support Workers to join one of our four fantastic residential and supported living services in Louth.

Our service provides 24/7 support throughout the year to individuals with complex needs and learning difficulties. We support with every aspect of life to promote independence

We have permanent roles available from 7.5 hours per week on Saturdays and/or Sundays

Weekend shifts consist of: Early shifts 7am-2.30pm and Late shifts 2.30pm -10pm.

We support our individuals with everyday tasks and community activities, promoting independence and ensuring that each individual receives care which is personalised to them and their own abilities, likes and dislikes. We create a weekly activity timetable, and this includes accessing the community for individual and group activities such as, bowling, swimming, horse riding, shopping, family visits, meals out, going to beach, going to car boot sales, picnics, playing snooker, going to discos, going for walks, craft fairs.

We also support our individuals to build confidence and independence with everyday household tasks including shopping, cleaning, cooking and personal hygiene. 

No two days are the same and each day is filled with interactions, support and encouragement to our individuals who otherwise would be unable to complete everyday tasks and live a life which is full of achievements, interactions, and activities.

Our wonderful team work closely with each other and go above and beyond to support to develop routines, planners, and sensory activities to ensure that each individuals needs are met and their lives are full of meaningful activities to them.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Desirable skills and experiences:

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Full UK manual driving license is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
