Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

Sense now have a Fantastic New Position Available, we are looking for a Support Woker to join our service in Ramsgate, Kent. This is a Permanent position working Part time hours, with a varied shift pattern of early and later shift, weekends and sleeps ins. You don't require any experience in the care sector, we would love to provide you with the skills to become an amazing Support Worker!

If you are an engaging, positive, caring person who would like to enhance other poeple's lives, then this is the role for you! You will support people to live the life they choose, and to grow with their independence.

Here in Ramsgate you will Support four people in their home, we are a purpose built bungalow with a team who have specialist expertise in supporting people with learning disabilities, sensory impairments and complex health care needs. We place great value on the concept of ‘just enough excellent support’, responsible risk taking, developing relationships and helping people to have a meaningful role in their community whilst living the life they choose to!

The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the home, centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.
  • Full job specification is attached below.

 

Your required skills and experiences:

  • A full UK Drivers License would be Beneficial, but is not essential. 
  • Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is beneficial ( BSL / Makaton etc.)
  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
