Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We have exciting opportunities for Support Workers to join our fantastic residential services in Louth.

Our services provide 24/7 support throughout the year to individuals with complex needs and learning difficulties. We support with every aspect of life to promote independence. 

We have permanent roles available with various contracted hours from 7.5hrs up to 37.5 hours per week.

We work on a flexible rota designed to meet the needs of the individuals being supported. Shifts vary depending on contracted hours but typically start 7/8am weekdays and include every other weekend. Weekend shifts consist of: Early shifts 7am-2.30pm and Late shifts 2.30pm -10pm.

We provide a highly person-centred service promoting independence, communication and offering choices. The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same, however, as a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing such as cooking, cleaning accessing the local community, attending medical appointments, supporting the administration of medication acting in the individual’s best interest. We support with a wide variety of activities outside the service swimming, gym, horse riding, hairdressers, lunch out in the community, shopping for personal items, sailability, disco, pub, beach visits are just some of the activities.

Our service is busy, but it is a home full of laughter, singing and music.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.
  • Full job specification is attached below.

Desirable skills and experiences:

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Full UK manual driving license is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
