Could you be a Sense Daytime Support Worker?

It's an exciting time at Sense, we now have an opportunity for a Daytime Support Worker to join our residential day service in Carrickfergus, Northern ireland. We have a variety of hourly contracts available all of which are permanent roles, 1 x 24 hour, 1x 27 hour and 1x 36 hour contract available depending on your suitability / availability. The working hours for a daytime support worker are 9am - 3pm or 4pm - 10pm, working a mixture of 6 & 12 hour shifts.


As a Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals who have a range of complex needs, including sensory loses and learning disabilities. As well as supporting with personal care, you’ll support our residents to do the activities they enjoy; this might include sports, acting, trips to the theatre, cooking, or supporting someone to attend social events. 

The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficulties is beneficial.
