Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a brand-new Supported Living Service in Sheffield.

You will work as part of a new team to develop an incredible young man who expresses himself through BSL, enjoys being out and about, interacting with his peers and would like to increase his life skills and independence

This service provides valuable 24/7 support, with shift patterns covering mornings, evenings and waking nights which attract an enhanced rate of pay

We have permanent contracts available from 16 hours up to 37.5 hours per week with flexible shifts to suit your needs. Examples of our typical shifts: 8am-4pm, 4pm-10pm and 9am-3pm with waking night 10pm-8am.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have BSL Level 1 or equivalent and experience in a care setting especially with behaviour that challenges.

The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. However, as a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the home, centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience of working within the care sector
  • Full UK driving license and use of own car
  • Knowledge of BSL desirable
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
