Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our fantastic supported living service in Louth.

Our service provides 24/7 support throughout the year to 3 individuals with complex needs and learning difficulties. We support with every aspect of life to promote independence. 

This is a permanent role available from 7.5 hours per week on Saturdays and/or Sundays with the opportunity to also undertake hours in the week as well as sleep-ins at an enhanced rate.

Weekend shifts consist of: Early shifts 7am-2.30pm and Late shifts 2.30pm -10pm.

Our service is situated in Louth not far from the town centre. All of the individuals we support have mobility and are able to access the community and enjoy shopping, meals out, going to beach, going to car boot sales, picnics, playing snooker, going to discos, going for walks, craft fairs. All three have access to a mobility vehicle so they can travel further afield to experience new activities or events. We are a small team who each bring different qualities to the individuals we support. Two of our individuals verbally communicate and one communicates using simple Makaton signs. We support the individuals to go on holidays such as Euro Disney, London, York, Scarborough and Centre Parks. We promote a person centred approach to caring for our individuals and their best interests are at the heart of everything we do. We support them to lead as independent lives as possible both as part of the community and in undertaking day to day skills for independence such as cooking, cleaning, room care, laundry and shopping.

  • To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Desirable skills and experiences:

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Full UK manual driving license is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
