Could you be a Sense Community Support Worker? 

It's an exciting time as Sense has just released its new strategy, and our Get Our There (GOT) Group is expanding! We now have an opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join our Get Out There Group in Nuneaton, Warwick.  

This is a permanent role, working 8 hours per week. Ideally these hours would be required during holiday periods. Preferably you will work during Saturday/Sunday, after school Tuesday and possibly Thursday/Friday day time. This can be discussed and agreed during your interview.

Our GOT Group support children and young people with their social programme of activities, you will be supporting a young adult with autism, anxiety and mental health issues.

As a GOT Group Community Support Worker, you will help to prepare the individual for adulthood and support them in a  volunteering role with budgeting and  making choices. You will also be encouraging the individual to try new community activities such as going to the gym, football club, cinema etc.

Your duties can include:

  • To support individuals / groups within the centre and community.
  • To provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments, physical and/or learning disabilities who use Sense services.
  • To deliver services which meet or exceed organisational expectations and standards.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • You require a full UK licence and must be willing/able to drive your own vehicle.
  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Understanding or experience working with individuals with autism and mental health issues is desirable.
