- A full manual UK license and the willingness to drive is desirable.
- Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is beneficial (BSL / Makaton etc) but is not essential.
- Knowledge, skills and understanding of working with students who are on the Autistic Spectrum and have special education needs is desirable.
- Due to the nature of the role candidates are required to have English and Maths GCSEs Grades A - C or equivalent.

It's an exciting time as Sense has just released its new strategy, we now have an opportunity for a Education Support Worker to join our College in Selly Oak, Birmingham.
This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. With the role being in a college; you would work for 39 weeks per year and therefore the salary is pro-rata.
This is an exciting role working at the Sense Specialist College, supporting and preparing young people for the journey into adulthood. The successful candidate should have experience of working in an education setting.
As an Education Support Worker, you will work with individuals who have dual or single sensory impairment, learning disability and / or autism. The role involves providing a person- centered approach to meet communication, information and mobility needs.
You will support learners to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society.
