Can you be a Children’s support worker at our Short Breaks Service?

This an exciting opportunity for those wanting work with a child, contributing to the child’s well-being learning through play, having a lovely happy experience and also supporting the family to have regular breaks. We need two staff due to the centre being only open for this delightful child who needs a short break. You will either work 4 or 5 hours on 1 sunday per month.

The 5-hour post shall be responsible for a half hour set up at the beginning and a clean-up at the end. They shall also be responsible for opening and locking up the centre as a key holder

Your duties can include:

  • Day to day activities led by the needs and aspirations of the people / person you'll be supporting.
  • Community Access.
  • Enabling an independent lifestyle.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • Caring/Support Worker experience in a personal / voluntary / professional capacity.
  • Be able to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of those you are working with. Where necessary develop new skills to enable communication through sign and symbols.
  • Experience of working independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Willing and able to accompany/participate in leisure activities of the person’s choice.
