Could you be a Sense Support Worker?
We’re seeking to recruit some great new support workers to join our relief team covering a variety of shifts and hours. We are looking for people with the right values and behaviours to work in our Sense College in Bedford.
You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. Above all we want someone that shares in our values.
The successful applicants will work with people who have dual or single sensory impairment, learning disability , and associated physical disabilities. The role involves providing a person centred approach to meet communication, information and mobility needs through the development of learning plans to reduce the isolation of people through community involvement and support in a range of activities.
As an Support Worker you will support people to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society. You will work closely with learners to achieve the long term goals identified in their Individual Learning Plans and or social care programes .
The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing.
