Could you be a Sense Support Worker?

We now have an opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join us in Cardiff and Newport.  

This is a permanent role, working 16 hours per week. This is an extremely rewarding role working with clients with both hearing and visual impairments ranging in age from 18 -100yrs.

This role is based in the community to support clients with tasks to maintain their independence. A session could include reading mail, making phone calls, supporting the client at appointments, going for lunch, going cycling, visiting a bingo hall, meeting friends etc the opportunities are endless.

A friendly and positive personality is essential for the role, if you enjoy variety this role is for you!

Sessions usually last around 2 hours and usually daytime between 10am and 4pm however some evening and weekend work maybe required to support the clients needs. Some sessions may involve visiting the client in their care homes.

You will need to transport the client in your own car, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • You don’t need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker. 
  • Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
