What can I expect?
Your main place of work will be a Sense resource centre where you will support people to do lots of different activities. You will also support people when they do activities away from the resource centre.
You will usually be supporting adults of working age, many of whom have complex needs and learning disabilities in addition to sensory impairments
Hours of Work:
The College day starts at 9.00- 4.30, Monday to Friday. 45 Weeks of the year allowing 7 weeks set College closure throughout the year. You will be paid £9.08 per hour.
Increasingly people also want support at other times, and so there may be opportunities to work in the evenings and at weekends in other roles within Sense, or to work flexibly between day activities / College service and a community service.
What we would like from you:
A motivated person to join our College team delivering specialist education programmes to young adults at our new college centre in Bedford.
The successful applicants will work with young people who have dual or single sensory impairment, learning disability, and associated physical disabilities.
You must have minimum English and Maths Level 2 (GCSE C or grade 5).

Educational courses, Vocational activities, Work placements, Lifeskills programmes, Therapies including Hydro Therapy to name just a few.
We build a strong and mutually supportive relationship with families, carers. We are sensitive to the difficulties that some of our learners have with communication and mobility, and will continually strive to improve their lives and experiences.
