About the role
Sense has an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Holidays and Short Breaks team as a Short Breaks Coordinator. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, initially from home, but based in either London or Birmingham post pandemic. This role is initially a one year fixed term contract, with the potential of extension depending on funding.
As our Short Breaks Coordinator you will be responsible for the delivery and development of Sense’s national Vision England project which supports young people with disabilities to learn more about their environment through both virtual events and community support throughout the UK.
You will support and enable children, young people and adults with disabilites to access and enjoy the leisure activities and wellbeing opportunities that they are interested in, through providing a high quality, safe, child led service and are able to align yourself with Sense’s values to provide the best service to the people we support.
In this role you will also work across a range of other projects within the Holidays and Short Breaks Team.
Our ideal candidate will be proactive and solution focussed, with the ability to develop and manage successful projects. You’ll have a strong understanding of the needs of children, young people and adults with complex communication needs, and the ability to build strong positive relationships with the individuals and families we support. You must be comfortable working with a wider team who are geographically spread across the country, where communication is key, and also working independently.

The base salary for this role is £26,125 per annum. Staff based at our head office in King's Cross, London will receive £3090 Inner London Allowance in addition.
