Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Support Worker based in Barnet.
Barnet Residential services support adults over the age of eighteen who have a range of complex needs, including sensory loss and learning disabilities. We currently have various roles available on a permanent full and part time basis working various shifts across the week. We are looking for caring people who have the empathy and patience to positively focus on the people we support.
As a support worker you will be supporting the people who live here to participate in a full and active life at home and in the local community this will include things such as basic domestic tasks such as laundry and shopping, swimming, gardening, cooking, music activities, art activities, amongst other things. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.
Support Worker posts require excellent communication, and team working skills, literacy, an awareness of disability needs and flexibility. It is desirable that you are able to swim and support people in the water and hold a valid UK drivers licence to support users on day trips and community activities.

About you and what we offer
We’re known for our excellent training and development, so for some vacancies, previous personal care experience is not needed. However, you do need to have empathy and be enthusiastic, patient, compassionate and caring so that you can positively interact with the people we support.

Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us. It involves completing an online application form and taking part in a value based assessment process which will require you to attend an assessment day for about 3 hours and then a panel interview
