Do you have experience of dealing with challenging situations and of advocating in the best interests of individuals?
Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated Deputy Care Manager to join our professional team in Bristol. This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week in our new purpose built residential services.
As the Deputy Manager you will form part of the management team of our 2-person service, supporting residents with learning disabilities and autism who have moved into their first home. We are looking for creative and supportive people who have a can do attitude.
You will support the team to enable individuals to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your leadership skills, coaching, team guidance and support will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible. Through good leadership the team will feel valued and well supported.
You will be a frontline supervisor, supporting the manager to effectively manage a team of staff to deliver person centred, specialist services.
You will need to have a sound knowledge of person centred planning, rota planning and staff management/development. We would like to hear from you if you are a committed, flexible and enthusiastic team player who is able to coach and mentor a team of support workers. You will be IT literate and able to undertake some administration duties.
You will need to have had proven experience of supervising and line managing staff, as well as experience of coordinating and planning a range of activities. You will have an awareness of total communication approaches which include: verbal communication, objects of reference, hand under hand, hand over hand, communication boards, observations and unrecognised individual communication modes.
We are particularly interested in those that have:
• Experience of dealing with challenging situations and of advocating in the best interests of individuals.
• Knowledge of supported living service
• Knowledge of supporting people with an LD
• Knowledge of supporting people with ASC
• Knowledge and Experience of Positive Behaviour Support
• Knowledge of Outcomes monitoring
• Experience of inducting, supervising and training a team
• Experience of carrying out debriefs, supervisions and MPPs
• Experience of working within MDTs
