Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Support Worker / intervenor at our purpose built Sense TouchBase Centre in Selly Oak, Birmingham. This is a permanent role working 10am – 4pm every Saturday (6hours per week). There is also an option to work additional hours supporting our other services.


About the role…
• The role is supporting young adults with multi-sensory impairments and additional needs. 
• As a support worker / intervenor you will support the individuals to build their communication skills through your interactions with them.
• You will support the individuals to engage in sensory activities and enjoy new experiences
• As a Support Worker / intervenor you will support and enable people to live the life they choose 
• You will support individuals and encourage them to make choices, to express themselves, live as independently as possible and run their own lives as much as possible 
• There is always an opportunity to work additional hours supporting other service users.

About you…
Essential:
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Flexible approach to situations
• Basic knowledge of BSL or the be willing to learn
• Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided
• Able to demonstrate that you possess the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives
Desirable:
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
