About the role

Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Support Worker in Bristol in the BS7 and BS10 areas. We have a number of permanent full time roles available working up to 37.5 hours per week. Pay rate £8.75 per hour days & £9.08 per hour for waking nights.

These are new and exciting roles working with young people with learning disabilities and autism, who are moving in to their first home. We are looking for individuals with experience in this field who feel passionately about the rights of vulnerable young people. You will be helping these young people to have an ordinary life and do extraordinary things. Sense will provide ongoing training to aid your professional development, including an excellent induction to enhance your current level of experience. It is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives

As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life that they choose; make choices, express themselves and live as independently as possible. The young people you will be supporting have a variety of needs, some more complex than others, and some may display challenging behaviours from time to time (some who might at times communicate and express themselves through behaviours that challenge services and staff).

Your person centred support and encouragement will assist the young people to run their own home and access the local and wider community. You will be supporting the young people with all aspects of their lives, such as education, work and social opportunities and life skills, while working towards agreed outcomes. You will aid the individuals to become active citizens of their community, to build relationships and friendships and help reduce isolation. Everyone has the right to live a full and rich life.

Being a Sense Support Worker can be the springboard to your future career - and to all sorts of opportunities and management roles.

We also have relief (bank) opportunities in this area attracting an hourly rate of £8.21
