If yes, then our Part Time Support Worker job vacancies in Barnet may be perfect for you!

About the role

We are currently looking for Support Workers to join our professional team at our day service TouchBase South East based in Barnet. You will be supporting adults with dual sensory loss and additional disabilities, in a range of sensory, leisure and skills development activities. This is a part time position working up to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, just let us know what hours you are looking for.

TouchBase South East is a purpose built centre which is the base for a huge variety of social activities and education based sessions, it is located within the heart of the local community and is a short walk from our allotment plot and the local high street.

Sessions are tailor-made to suit individual or group needs, so you could be supporting somebody out on a day trip one day and in the hydrotherapy pool the next. Other activities on offer to the people we support in Barnet are IT, basic literacy and numeracy, gardening, cooking, music activities, communication practice, work placements in local businesses, art activities, sensory environments and to access facilities in the local community amongst other things. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.

All of the support worker posts in High Barnet require excellent communication, team working skills, literacy, flexibility and an awareness of disability needs. It is desirable that you are able to swim and support in our hydrotherapy pool onsite, and that you hold a valid UK drivers licence to support individuals on day trips and community activities.
