Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Childrens Support Worker in Stockport. We are looking for enthusiastic people to support on Thursday evenings 5pm - 7pm and Saturday mornings 9.30am -1.30pm and various 1:1 services in the community with children.

As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Sense supports people to take part in some of our amazing arts and wellbeing activities – from dance to music making, swimming to rock climbing.

About you 

Sense are looking for applicants to support children and young people (8-18 years) with additional needs in attending social groups and accessing the community. This will include assisting participation in various activities, assisting with personal care, and promoting independece both at Sense social groups and within the local area, providing short periods of respite for families and carers. 

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. You must ideally be qualified to Level 2 NVQ Caring for Children and Young People, Health and Social Care or willing to work towards this after completion care certificate within the first 6 months.
