About the role

Sense are looking for a passionate and committed person to join our professional team as an Activity Coordinator at our Sense Centre in Rothwell, working 37.5 hours per week.  This role is being offered on a Fixed Term basis until August 2020.

A key part of this role will be supporting individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support people young people with a range of complex disabilities to participate in a number of different activities offered at the centre, and to access facilities in the local community. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.

You will lead activity sessions based in both the day centre and the wider local community. You will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of sessions as well as maintaining the area as a safe and functional learning environment. You will also supervise Support Workers.

About you 

It is an essential requirement that you hold a minimum of a Level 2 Health & Social Care or equivalent. Experience of implementing activities with an emphasis on learning outcomes is essential as is a progressive outlook to disability issues. It would be fantastic if you have an artistic, creative, or sporting background.

In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and also be an excellent communicator, and team working skills, literacy, an awareness of disability needs and flexibility.
