About the role

Sense College are recruiting for a dynamic, experienced and solution focussed Vice Principal (Operations) to lead our college operations across East and West Midlands at Rothwell (Northants) and at our Sense flagship site at Touchbase Pears, Selly Oak Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time, new post arising from our successful college growth which will support our continued development in these regions.  

We are seeking applicants experienced in the management of Ofsted regulated 16-25 specialist education provision with learners with special educational needs and disability (SEND) alongside having a good understanding of managing adult social care day provision.

You will be joining an experienced and proactive Sense College Senior Management Team who are seeking to move our Ofsted Good Grade 2 education provision into becoming Outstanding; we are looking for applicants with the experience to help us turn this vision into reality.

Sense College operates a geographically dispersed delivery model with centres across East and West Midlands, Eastern Region and outer London. This role will primarily work across East and West Midlands however, flexibility to travel across all college sites, which may include some overnight stays, is required.

About you 

Our ideal candidate will: 

  • Have the ability and experience to support your managers in flexibly managing both 16-25 SEND provision alongside adult social care day provision for people age 16+ as appropriate to your centres
  • Bring to the role enthusiasm, knowledgeable experience and determination to provide the best possible service for the people we support
  • Be an excellent role model with sound leadership qualities, able to work within a co-production model and value the importance of views of the people we support and their families
  • Be able to work alone and as part of an experienced senior management team
  • Have experience in an independent special college post 16 SEND environment
  • Be able to travel flexibly and nationally as required
