We’re looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as an Activity Coordinator / Team Leader at our service in Birmingham working 11.25 hours per week on a part time basis.
A key part of the role will be supporting individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support deafblind people to participate in a number of different activities offered at the resource centre and to access facilities in the local community. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.
About the role
You will lead activity sessions based in both the day centre and the wider local community. You will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of sessions as well as maintaining the area as a safe and functional learning environment. You will also supervise Support Workers.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
Experience of implementing activities with an emphasis on learning outcomes is essential as is a progressive outlook to disability issues. An artistic, creative or sporting background is desirable.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and also be an excellent communicator, and team working skills, literacy, an awareness of disability needs and flexibility.
