About the role
Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in Knapwell, Cambridge. We have a number of Support Worker posts working up to 35 hours per week attracting a salary of £8.50 per hour.
This role is based in our Sense college and working hours will be Monday-Friday 9:15am - 4:15pm. Evenings and weekend working are not required.
As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible – helping with personal care, supporting someone to engage with Sense activities, or enabling individuals to access their local community. You will be working with young adults with complex communication needs and associated learning difficulties.
Please note, Sense Centre Knapwell is located in Knapwell, approximately 10 miles outside of Cambridge. We are not located on a public transport route, so it essential that applicants have alternative means of travel.

Experience is not necessarily required as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.
Our ideal candidate will be either a native sign language user or be able to sign at level 1 or higher, please do let us know if you have this skill. It is however essential that you have a willingness to learn BSL.
