About the role

Sense are currently recruiting for a Shop Manager working 37.5 hours per week in our brand new Llandudno store.

We are very excited to be expanding the retail aspect of our Charity into Wales, and these roles will provide an opportunity to really champion the various ways Sense support people, and the difference the charity makes each day. Each year, over four million people buy an item from us, so our shops play a pivotal role in raising funds to make a difference to the lives of those who find it difficult to communicate and connect with the world.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated shop manager to lead and develop the team of volunteers and an Assistant Manager.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, a creative problem solver and always looking for opportunities to attract new supporters to the store, and Sense.

You will be responsible for generating income by maximising sales, controlling costs and encouraging your local community to donate saleable items.

The successful candidate will have some experience of working in a retail environment, or within a team leader position. You will be responsible for motivating the team, and you will ensure a safe and inviting environment for those visiting, and working in store.

About You

The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, and positively committed to working within the charity sector. You’ll have experience of providing excellent customer service and motivating a team to do the same.

You’ll have an eye for detail and will ensure a safe, clean and inviting environment for customers, staff and volunteers.

Previous experience of working in a retail environment is desirable, but not essential.

This position requires the applicant to be willing to work Bank Holidays and weekends as required.
