Job advert:

Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as a Practice Team Leader (Social Care) at our service in Carrickfergus. This is a flexible position working up to 37.5 hours per week within an Accommodation Service setting.

About the role

Practice Team Leaders take a lead role in coaching, mentoring and supervising a staff team that provides person centred support to people who have sensory impairments and associated disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives based on their own preferences, wishes and aspirations.

A key part of the role involves sharing expertise and positively challenging practice while working with high staffing ratios to gain the best outcomes for the people we support.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role. However, we will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments for any disabled candidates that apply.

If you are interested in applying, please note that Sense reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a suitable candidate be identified.

About you

The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner with a passion for delivering person centred services providing active support.  Keen to take a lead role in the development of practice within a team of dedicated and flexible staff who work hard to ensure that the people we support are enabled to live the lives they want.  Along with a level 3 diploma in health and social care you will have experience of leading, motivating and supporting a team, including providing supervision.

Experience working with sensory impairment is not essential as we provide comprehensive training based around the individual communication needs of the people we support; these skills can be learned whereas a positive and empowering approach essential for the role is non-negotiable.

About us

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.

Working at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
