It’s a really exciting time to join Sense Centre Rothwell as we’re now able to offer our fantastic services to even more people. Due to this expansion, we’re looking for two Specialist Support Workers to join our service in Kettering, Northamptonshire. We have two-part time roles working 9:15am - 4:15pm for 21 (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
As a Specialist Support Worker you provide exciting and person centred approach to individuals with learning disabilities and individuals with high medical needs. You will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. You will help develop communication skills, assist with personal care and administering medication through a variety of methods.
We also have casual (bank) opportunities in this area attracting an hourly rate of £7.83.
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.
You will have the ability to complete some physical tasks, such as safe lifting, the clamping of wheelchairs, and engaging with learners on the floor.
Please be aware that whilst it is not essential that you are able to drive, we are not based directly on a public transport route so you will require other means of transport.
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.
We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
