About the role
Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Specialist Support Worker in Kingswood, Bristol. We have a part time vacancy available working 15 hours per week. In addition, we have a Waking Night role working 17.5 hours per week.
Sense supports people with all aspects of their lives and seeks someone who is motivated to assist with community based activities and new opportunities, as well as supporting people with their communication, personal care and daily living skills. Your patient care and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives; to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible.
We also enable people to take part in some of our amazing arts and wellbeing activities – from dance to music making, swimming to rock climbing.
We also have casual (bank) opportunities in this area, on both day and night shift patterns, attracting an hourly rate of £7.83.
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. You must also be willing to work with people whose behaviour may challenge (full training and ongoing support is provided).
Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins; we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.
For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.
We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services.
Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us. It involves completing an online application form, taking part in a value based interview/assessment process and visiting one of our services.
