About the role

Sense has great opportunities for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Specialist Support Worker at our Sense Centre in Luton. We have a number of flexible, part time roles available working shift patterns of 35, 28, 21 and 14 hours per week.

Our Sense Centre operates Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.45pm, for 45 weeks of the year. This is a very exciting time for us, as we expand into our neighbouring town of Bedford in early 2019. We are looking for enthusiastic people, with vision and drive to join our friendly team.

As a Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible. This will include helping with personal care and feeding, and supporting someone to engage with Sense activities such as swimming, arts, crafts, textiles, gardening, using technology as well as enabling individuals to access their local community.

We also have casual (bank) opportunities in this area attracting an hourly rate of £7.83.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction and fundamental training package to give you the required skills. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a full UK driving licence.
