About the role
Sense has great opportunity for a Deputy Education Service Manager who is a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team at The Sense College, Sense Centre at Keech Hospice Luton. This is a very exciting time for us as we grow into our neighbouring town in Bedford early 2019. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with vision and drive to join our friendly team. You will share our enthusiasm in achieving our vision at this brand new centre.
As the Deputy Education Service Manager you will be required to deliver / oversee the planning and delivery of lessons and activities ensuring all the learners outcomes, targets are met. You will work closely within the staff team, and be the lead at the centre in the manager's absence. You will enable the young people we support to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible this will include helping with personal care, feeding or supporting someone to engage with Sense activities such as swimming, arts, crafts, textiles, gardening, using technology as well as enabling individuals to access their local community.
As our successful candidate, you will ideally have experience from both an education setting as well as social care setting. You will understand LD, PMLD, sensory impairment and the challenges our young people face.
