About the role
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our staff team at our fantastic centre: Touchbase Cymru in Caerphilly. We have a number of flexible, permanent, part time roles working up to 30 hours per week.
We support individuals from all over South Wales and welcome applicants from all areas. As a Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible. Your day may include some personal care and manual handling, as well as enabling the people we support to access their local community.
Sense also supports people to take part in some of our amazing arts and wellbeing activities – from dance to music making, swimming to rock climbing.
*For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a male candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it would great if you already have a knowledge of working with people with complex needs and sensory impairments. It is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role as is a willingness to obtain business insurance.
Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings and weekends, we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.
