About the role

Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Specialist Support Worker in Havant, Hampshire. We have a number of flexible, permanent, part time roles available working between 12 and 36 hours per week. Working patterns include day shifts from 8am to 8pm and waking night support from 8pm to 8am.

As a Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Our service in Havant assists a gentleman with sensory and communication needs to live in his own home. Your patient support and encouragement will assist this individual to run their own life as much as possible – helping with personal care, supporting them to rustle up some breakfast, do the weekly shop or visit a local café.

Sense also supports people to take part in wellbeing activities, including cinema trips, theme parks, swimming and visiting the beach.

We also have casual (bank) opportunities in this area attracting an hourly rate of £7.83.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. Due to the communication needs of the individual we support, you will need to be able to communicate in clear spoken English.

Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins; we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.

A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role.
