About the role
Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Specialist Support Worker at our new supported living service in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. We have a number of flexible, full and part time roles working up to 37.5 hours per week, with both day and night shift patterns available.
As a Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and empower them to live as independently as possible in their own home and local community. This will include assisting with people’s personal care, their dietary requirements, shopping and social activities.
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. We are also particularly interested in candidates with BSL skills, though this is not essential.
Flexibility is needed as working times do vary and will include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins; we will however provide you with a rota in advance. Initially, whilst the service is being set up, we may require you to work at other Sense services within a reasonable distance.
A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role.
Sense is a national disability charity that supports people with complex communication needs to be understood, connected and valued.

Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.
Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us. It involves completing an online application form, taking part in a value based interview/assessment process and visiting one of our services.
