About the role

Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as a Senior Support Worker (Intervenor) in Bristol. This is a part time position, working 8 hours per week during term time. 

An Intervenor provides one-to-one support to a child or adult who has been born with sight and hearing impairments – known as congenital deafblindness. The day-to-day role of an Intervenor varies dependant on the needs of the individual, the nature of the sensory impairment and the ways they wish to communicate.

The individual you will be supporting is a young boy with Multi-Sensory Impairment and other complex needs. You will act as his escort to and from school, on a Monday and Tuesday, 8am - 10am and 2.45pm - 4.45pm. You will provide any medical or personal care required during the journey.

About you 

The ideal candidate will have achieved, or be willing to work toward, a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and also BSL level one or possess native sign language skills. You will have had experience of working with and providing practical support to, people with learning disabilities and / or multisensory impairments.
