This is an exciting opportunity to ‘build’ a café, catering and moving to restaurant offer in a purpose built £14m arts and community centre.
About the role
As the Chef Manager at TouchBase Pears you will develop and manage a high quality café and the catering provision. This is a hands-on management role and you will lead on everything from menu, food service delivery costing to cooking and managing the café.
You will recruit and train your new team, which will comprise of both staff and volunteers. You will be a key part of the ‘life’ of the centre and will be part of the Duty Manager rota; you will have high levels of engagement with all the people that access the building. As the centre becomes an established local venue you will be able to become more involved with the local community and provide events such as cookery classes.
You will have substantial experience of both running catering facilities and as a hands-on chef, during this time you will have directly managed a team motivating them to deliver excellent service.
You will be commercially driven and able to think creatively to maximise the income potential of the catering facilities. You will have strong finance skills and be able to demonstrate how you have reported on income and expenditure against budget, stock control and overseeing cash handling procedures.
